artbusiness.com just put up the photos from David Young’s show, Neighborhood Watch, at Cafe Royale.
Accompanying the photos is a great review of the show written by poet/writer/artist Alan Kaufman. The review of the show and Alan’s perceptions about David’s work and all that has quietly been happening on the downtown art scene is pretty on point. He has a few kind words for Babylon Falling as well and I can’t say I disagree.

And of course tonight is our big group retrospective show, ‘the end is near…’. The show is more or less all hung and I know I’ve said the same for every show we’ve had here but this one can’t be missed.
New work from Robert Bowen, David Choong Lee, John Felix Arnold III, Emory Douglas, David Ball, David Young, Christopher Burch, a wall of photos from Shaun Roberts, and classic pieces from Hal Lawrence, Le Bijoutier, Shawn Mortensen, C3, buZ blurr, and Peter Simon.
We’re also giving out a DVD that contains hundreds of pictures taken over the course of the life of the store, all of our studio visits, a gallery of all our show flyers, and a teaser of our trip last summer to Jamaica. Shaun killed it with fully functional menus and he didn’t skimp with the photos…a bunch of pictures I’d never even seen.
Come out tonight and see it all for yourself. 6pm-9pm!
